Members of the Local 440 Peer Support Team have all received IAFF training. Our Peer Support Team provides assistance to active and retired firefighters experiencing behavioral health issues.

Your Peer Support Team is available to assist our members after potentially traumatic events or need emotional and mental health support which can include substance abuse counseling. They can suggest local, regional, state, and national behavioral health resources. Research shows that firefighters are more likely to accept treatment recommendations and assistance from peers.
